Mail merge with Google Sheets and Google Docs

Word's Mail Merge doesn't work with Google files. MergeDoc does the same job for Google: it takes each row of your Google Sheet, fills your Google Docs template and creates a separate file per row — letters, invitations, notices, thank-you notes…

Free for 50 files a month, no card needed. Pro $5/month or $39/year, unlimited.

How to do it in 4 steps

  1. Make your list in Google Sheets: one person per row, one detail per column.
  2. Write the letter in Google Docs with {{Column name}} tags where details change.
  3. Open MergeDoc and pick the sheet and the template. Tags are matched to columns with the same name.
  4. Click Run to get one Doc or PDF per person, saved together in a Drive folder.

FAQ

How is this different from Word's Mail Merge?

Same idea, but your data and template live in Google Sheets/Docs and it runs in the browser — no Word needed.

Do tags work in tables, headers and footers?

Yes: body text, tables, headers and footers.

Can I reuse Autocrat templates?

Yes. Autocrat-style <<Name>> tags are recognised too.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Data goes straight from your browser to Google; MergeDoc only opens the files you pick.
