Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the MergeDoc add-on for Google Sheets (“MergeDoc”, “we”) accesses, stores and shares. MergeDoc is operated by an independent developer based in Vietnam. Contact: support@getmergedoc.com.

MergeDoc cannot see your other spreadsheets, your whole Drive, or your Gmail.
What stays in your Google account
Your sheet data, templates and generated files stay in your Google account. Job settings are saved in the spreadsheet; your monthly file count is saved in your Google account’s add-on storage. We never copy the content of your rows, templates or files to our servers.
What our servers store
- License records: your email address, plan and subscription status and dates, and the customer and subscription IDs from our payment provider — only if you buy Pro.
- Usage statistics: counts only (for example, the output type of your first file, how many files a run created or failed, error codes, and run duration), stored with a one-way salted hash of your email instead of the email itself.
- Payment notifications: the event ID and type received from our payment provider, to avoid processing them twice.
Our license server runs on Cloudflare. Payment details are collected and processed by Polar (polar.sh), the merchant of record; we never see your card number. Polar’s privacy policy applies to the checkout.
How we use and share data
We use the data above only to provide MergeDoc: to apply your plan, to improve reliability, and to answer support requests. We do not sell data, show ads, or share data with anyone except Cloudflare (hosting) and Polar (payments) as needed to run the service, or when required by law.
MergeDoc’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Retention and deletion
License records are kept while you have a subscription and up to 24 months after it ends, for accounting and support. Usage statistics are kept up to 24 months. To delete your data, email support@getmergedoc.com from the address you use with MergeDoc; we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law. To stop MergeDoc accessing your account, remove it under Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons and at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Requests to our license server are authenticated with a Google-signed identity token. Payment notifications are verified with a signature.
Children
MergeDoc is not directed to children under 13.
